Built

By: Stephanie MacDonald

I built my life with these hands.
Molded from something that was hard to recognize.
I built my eyes with this face.
Molded something that could not be seen.

My world spinning faster, the past starts to unwind
Dropped the weighted pain that was embedded in my mind.

No longer by another person will I ever be defined
Finally forgotten that dreadful place completely left behind.

I built this body with my feet.
I built this place with my brain.
Beauty will come from she who once was

Confused perhaps slightly insane.
